Refrigerant Types Explained

Your aircon uses a specific type of refrigerant - you can’t mix types. Here’s a quick guide:

R22 (Freon)

• Used in: Older units (pre-2015)
• Status: Being phased out globally
• Price: Higher due to scarcity
• Note: If your unit uses R22, consider upgrading to a newer model

R410A

• Used in: Most units from 2010-2020
• Status: Current standard
• Price: Moderate
• Note: Most common refrigerant we service

R32

• Used in: Newer units (2018 onwards)
• Status: Latest eco-friendly option
• Price: Similar to R410A
• Note: More energy efficient, lower environmental impact
